Soul Families

There is a lot on Soul Families on the Internet, but what exactly I was looking for I couldn’t find.  I have personally experienced meeting my soul family over and over.  Wouldn’t it be a crazy event if we all met in one big room?  Would everyone recognize each other?

It is in our souls that we carry our inner sense of knowing, share our connectedness with every other living being. It is the place within us where we are all-knowing, intuitive, loving and kind.

A soul group (or family) is made up of any number of individual souls who regularly incarnate at the same time.  Given that we are all connected to everyone on some level, it seems to only make sense that we’d have a “group” of other souls we like to travel with, right?

We each have a group of souls we are spiritually connected to: souls we’re meant to connect with in both the spirit world and here by choice in physical form. This is our soul group, kind of like a family on a soul level.  People from our soul group come into our lives at seemingly random times, and sometimes in the most seemingly coincidental ways. Before we were born, we agreed to connect and teach each other a lesson – or many lessons – in this lifetime. This explains why some people who are only in our lives for a short period of time make such a profound impact.

Vince and I went to Guatemala on a spiritual tour and by the end of our first group dinner together I could see my soul family.  It was evident who was who.  I found my mother, my aunt, and my business partner.

Later at a Manna Reiki event I found my cousin and her sister, and my cousin’s son!  There was also my dearest friend and once again my mother.  There were even more connections than I’ve shared.  They actually shared some bodily characteristics like body type or hair color.  In one case they even had the same name.

That’s not to say that everyone in our lives is in our soul group. So how do we recognize it if someone is in our soul group?

  • You recognize their energy right away – it’s a feeling like you’ve come “home” when you’re around them
  • You feel like you met somewhere before but know you haven’t
  • You could find yourself finishing each others sentences or sharing ideas at the same time out of the blue
  • You find yourselves calling/texting/emailing each other at the same time
  • You feel an emotional pull to that person that surpasses any emotional connection you could have built with them in the time period you’ve known them
  • You both have an innate awareness that you are going through something important together that will leave you feeling more spiritually aware and/or a better person

Think about the people in your life who have created the biggest learning lessons and consider what knowing them in this lifetime has taught you.

I.Connect-Amazing new product!

Mary and I were recently introduced to a healing device called the I.Connect. The I.Connect is designed to provide a full range of integrative connections that enhance vitality, health and conscious awareness. It is a frequency wave modulator that establishes a field of positive connection that supports and opens access to the “greater” aspect of who we are. People, who are currently using the I.Connect, report feelings of joy, compassion, a sense of knowing, well-being, peacefulness, heightened meditations and physical improvements. Others have experienced improved sleep patterns and ability to handle stress. They are clearing out clutter and distractions in their life and are empowered to operate more effectively in the present moment.

The I.Connects are encoded with the interdimensional, energetic, metaphysical, geometric patterns that will help in feeling connected to a vastly different, higher frequency internet.  They not only connect us to one and other, but more easily to our own souls, to your own frequency of light.
The nine images on the top represent three different forms: Phi Ratio Star Tetrahedron, Star Metatron and the Tricon with a cube blended in the middle. Each form has a story and a special purpose. In the center of them is an alchemical mix of unique crystals, minerals and rare earth transition metals. Some of these metals are in critical supply because of their high demand in industry to improve the movement of energy in everything from rare earth magnets to touch screen phones and tablets. The shape and outer material itself (stainless steel) is critical as it forms a toroidal field (donut shape) reflective of all energy flow and this alone doubles its energy output. Even the types of internal and external glues and solders that are used are critical to its subtle energy flow.

We have personally experienced many benefits with the I.Connect especially when using it in conjunction with essential oils.  Our meditations have been enhanced and the device has helped us become and remained centered. One of the most noticeable changes we have experienced is being more grounded and find it easier to stay in the present moment.

Visit our blog over the next several weeks to learn more about our experiences with the I.Connect and essential oils.

Play and Bring Wonder Into Your Life!

Make A Play Date

Four ideas to bring wonder in your life!

Instead of thinking about negative “what ifs,” play the positive “what if” game.  Ask yourself, “What if I get my dream job?” “What if I open deeply to love?” Let your dreams become reality by asking, “How could this get any better?” And live the answer!

Spend time with a child or animal.  Watch them play and discover the world again through their eyes.

Try a different style of yoga or a new physical practice, like dance or the martial arts, and become a beginner again.  Forgive yourself if you fumble and enjoy the process of learning.

Give yourself permission to make a new mistake.  Do Tree Pose with your eyes closed and see how long you last.  Laugh if you fall down.

Meditate and Change Your Life!

Meditation changes everything – here’s how to make time for it.

If you don’t believe you have time to meditate, you don’t.  It’s really a matter of choice and commitment, not time.  If you so choose, you can rest your mind in stillness even on the busiest days.

Indeed, every day we find ourselves with free minutes – waiting.  We wait in lines, in traffic, or at a doctor’s office.  But often we fill this time texting, Googling, or tweeting.

Instead, with nothing but just a bit of intention, you can transform these moments into stillness, equipoise, and relaxation, and experience the qualities of a meditator’s mind.  Nikki Costello

  1. Stillness.  Stand more firmly on your feet or sit and settle into your buttocks and hips.  Breathe deeply.
  2. Relaxation.  Soften your facial muscles:  forehead, eyes, mouth, lips, and tongue.  Breathe freely.
  3. Equipoise.  Free your hands and rest them by your sides or place them gently on your lap.  Breathe evenly.
  4. Informal meditation.  Notice how it feels to be present with your-self, slowing down and observing.  You are engaging with the first steps of meditation, which you can enjoy anywhere, anytime.

The Mind Matters! By: David Servan-Schreiber, Ode June 2011

THE MIND MATTERS – How to make patients active participants in their medical procedures.

Surgery, the glory of western medicine, is ultimately technological.  Perfect sterility must preside; every move is calculated, codified and monitored by machines as efficient as they are relentless.  Nevertheless, the achievements of the last 50 years – from microsurgery of the hand to heart transplants and hip replacements – have changed the patient into a passive object of scientific inquiry and the surgeon’s dexterity.  Once patients have agreed to an operation, how can they conceive of themselves as active participants, especially when they experience surgery under general anesthesia?

Although that question seems absurd to the majority of surgeons – and patients – a revolution is underway.  Scientific studies are beginning to show what some observers have long suspected: The patient’s attitude and mental preparation play a major role in the way the body responds to that “well-intentioned aggression” we call surgery.

Although we don’t yet know why this is so, it has now been demonstrated that explanations about the nature of the operation and about what the patient should expect reduce blood loss and complications during and after operations.  Instruction in relaxation and training in hypnosis to condition the body’s response during the operation contribute to this effect, also reducing post-operative pain and even the length of hospital stays.

The most surprising impact of all has come from the hypnotic suggestions whispered via headphones to patients under anesthesia.  A study has demonstrated that several days after an operation, nurses were able to identify 80 percent of the patients who had received this intervention – because they recovered more quickly and experienced less pain than those who had not.

A surgeon tells the story of a patient whose friends had said a prayer over a stone they had all held in their hands.  The stone was meant to remain with the woman during surgery, to bring her good luck.  When the surgeon noticed that the stone was nowhere to be seen, he delayed the operation until it was found.  Questioned about his decision, he answered simply, “When I operate, I need all the help I can get.”

Even if the conclusions reached by these studies remain controversial, is it reasonable to deprive patents of help that is not only harmless but so potentially beneficial?

Great tips for nutrition and our skin!

Catherine is in our upline. These are highlights from Catherine’s talk on skin care and nutrition. She is practicing wellness and life coaching in Vero Beach and can be reached at

Catherine suggested taking a photo of yourself on day 1, front and side view in the morning without makeup. Start taking your supplements and use the skin care products for 4 days. On day five, take another photo and compare. She said you will be astonished with results.

She said that good skin starts from the inside with good nutrition and eliminating
Inflammation. Inflammation can do a number on your cells–and will cause tissue damage. Also, avoid sugar as it makes your body acidic. You want a more alkaline ph to the blood.

She suggested taking:
1. 3 Omega Blues ( fish oil with essential oils to prevent them from going rancid and tasting fishy ) They have Lemongrass, German Chamomile, Clove and Myrrh oils. She takes one with each meal.

2. Package of True Source daily. They are whole food vitamins and many of the ingredients are certified kosher. Being from whole foods, they have co enzymes and co factors that synthetic vitamins don’t have.

3. Longevity capsules ( or you can put the oil in capsules or on your feet) have thyme, clove orange and frankincense oils. Powerful antioxidants. Frankincense has DNA repairing and cancer fighting properties. Take one capsule a day.

4. Balance Complete – Daily Superfood energizer + meal- replacer. Ningxia wolfberry fruit with brown rice bran, whey protein concentrate along with enzymes and fiber. She likes to have a shake in the am before her Zumba classes……it is light on the stomach, not too heavy to exercise with.

5. NingXia Red juice-for making the blood cells less sticky and to reduce inflammation with its high antioxidant properties. It will begin to repair the free radical damaged cells as well as the cellular malfunctions and mutations of the cells……..also slows down the negative effects of aging! It also helps eye health.

For the skin care, she discussed the ART skin care system with all natural ingredients, no harmful chemicals and includes the frankincense oil. She washes her face with the Art Foaming. She uses the Art toner and then puts on the Art day moisturizer . At night she uses the Art night rejuvenator or the sandalwood moisturizer. She also uses the Wolfberry eye cream around the eye area (not in it). She said people have reported improved eyesight using this product.
The YL Beauty Serum is an added secret, and if you add a few drops of Gentle Baby oil blend…Sandalwood or Myrrh to it, and apply to the face it is excellent for younger looking skin. She layers this on top of the other creams.

The Claraderm spray is good for female private areas –rashes, irritations….. It was originally created by Gary Young for his wife, Mary after she had Jacob…….it was to quickly heal the vaginal tissues after childbirth…. but over the years women have found it great to maintain excellent healthy tissues………also good for bug bites……etc.

The Satin Facial Scrub with peppermint is great for exfoliating the skin. You can use this to deep clean the skin and remove the old skin cells, and also leave it on for a few minutes as a facial.

The Progessence plus serum is for hot flashes and balancing hormones and bone building, and the Regenalone cream is for rebuilding muscle and myelin sheaths of the nerves. The Cellite Magic massage oil is great for cellulite and circulation. They have found it to be great for diabetics to massage their legs and feet with for better circulation. It smells wonderful — very citrusy…..and she says it really works.

Catherine talked about the mind-body experience and how it relates to stress reduction. The oils help to relax us by their getting into the limbic system of the brain. We talked about meditation and how it helps stress. Use tranquility roll-on when you meditate for a special experience.

Catherine instructed the class on the Vicki Opfer “mood elevating protocol” a great way to start the day……. and also to protect our body. Start with Valor on the feet, Harmony on the solar plexus, Joy on the heart and White Angelica on the head and shoulders. She suggested the affirmation, “I live every day in joy, gratitude and appreciation!!”

Radiation Protection

With the reports of radiation moving towards the United States after the Japan disaster, many people have asked us what essential oils are pertinent to protect ourselves. Gary Young sent out the following letter.  I’m sure it will answer any questions you may have.

Use the following Young Living products to protect your home and environment (based upon their availability in your market):

  • Longevity: 1–2 capsules twice daily
  • Melrose: 6–20 drops per capsule or in yogurt 1–3 times a day
  • Super C*: 1–2 tablets daily
  • Thyromin*: 1 capsule three times a day
  • ICP: 1 to 2 teaspoons in the morning
  • JuvaPower: 1–2 teaspoons at night
  • Endoflex and Digize: 1–2 capsules daily
  • NingXia Red: 4–6 oz. daily
  • Detoxyme: 3–5 capsules at night
  • Allerzyme: 1–2 capsules three times a day
  • Essentialzyme: 1 capsule three times a day

Dear Young Living Family,

As you have undoubtedly heard, Japan is currently suffering from the effects of a massive earthquake, which in turn created a devastating tsunami. Our thoughts and prayers are with our distributors and employees in Japan as they cope with this catastrophe. While all Young Living employees are accounted for, we have not yet been able to make contact with all of our distributors. My team and I are making every effort to get in touch with these YL family members to check on their safety.

Beyond the immediate impact of this disaster, several nuclear reactors on the eastern coast of Japan have been compromised. Radiation exposure can have devastating health consequences, a fact I learned during my extensive research on the Chernobyl disaster in the 1980s. As happened with Chernobyl, there are concerns that any leaked radiation from one or more Japanese nuclear reactors may be carried by air currents across large portions of the globe.

Japanese authorities are working to repair these reactors and contain the radiation. However, the true extent of these leaks is not yet known, and they could have the potential to affect people in Japan and across the world. Knowing this, we can take prudent precautionary steps to protect ourselves and loved ones from potential radioactive effects.

Mary and I will be taking several steps to safeguard our home with the powerful air-purifying and DNA-protecting properties of Young Living essential oils, and we recommend that you do the same.

  • Use a Young Living diffuser, coupled with the following oils, in the rooms of your home over the coming days and weeks. Diffuse a combination of Melrose, Sacred Frankincense, and Purification essential oils. Combine the oils in pairs when diffusing (for example, Melrose with Sacred Frankincense or Sacred Frankincense with Purification). Melrose is a particularly powerful blend because it contains two melaleuca oils that may protect cells from radiation damage, according to Dr. Daniel Penoel in l’aromathÄ-rapie Exactement.
  • Another sensible precaution is to wear an inexpensive dust mask saturated with the above oils while you are outside or traveling.
  • A further step Mary and I are taking to protect our environment is burning frankincense resin—an ancient method of purifying the air—throughout our house.

While science has not yet made a demonstrable link between diminished radiation effects and essential oils or resin burning, I believe in doing everything possible to protect my family using natural means.

In addition to the above recommendations, I have created a new kit called QuadShield (#4559). QuadShield combines four potent Young Living products: Super C,* Melrose, Longevity, and Thyromin.* These products may have a synergistic, protective effect on your hormonal and immune systems, and I recommend sending this kit to friends and family in Japan, as well as using them personally in your home.

It is not my intention to alarm anyone or cause undue concern over the developing situation in Japan. However, I strongly believe in being proactive and using readily available resources at our disposal to safeguard our health and those we love. I also feel that this recent disaster could be viewed as a wake-up call to all of us about the radiation that surrounds us all the time and the methods that we can use to protect us from it.

The Young Living executive team and I will continue to closely monitor developments in Japan, and we will provide updates and additional information as the picture becomes clearer.

Cold Sores and Fever Blisters

Here is a quick post for those of you that are interested in which oils to use on cold sores, fever blisters or canker sores.  My entire life I have gotten cold sores after extended exposure to the sun.  On a recent trip to Mexico, I started showing signs of a developing blister.  I immediately applied Thieves neat on the affected area.  I felt immediate relief.  I continued applying the Thieves three times a day for two days.  The blister immediately started to dry up after the first application..  On days three and four, I applied Purification to the area in the morning and before bed.   At the end of the fourth day there was almost no indication that I had experienced a cold sore.  There was no pain and minimal symptoms during this flare up.  I hope those of you that experience flare ups find this helpful.

Of course, an extremely large percentage of our physical ailments and symptoms are emotional based.  The probable cause of cold sores is festering angry words and fear of expressing them.  The perfect oil to use energetically just happens to be Purification.  Imagine that!  I’ll begin my self-discovery and release soon.  We learned an amazing Emotional Release with Essential Oils process at the recent CARE Seminar we attended.  More on that in a future blog.

Twelve Rules For Safety with Essential Oils

Mary and I just spent the last four days at a seminar conducted by Terry Robinette and Marie Koepke, certified instructors with the Center for Aromatherapy Research and Education (CARE.) It was an amazing four days and we learned a considerable amount of information about essential oils as well as several techniques to use them. We will pass on much of this information over the next several weeks.  CARE was founded by Dr. David Stewart and his wife, Lee. It is an amazing organization dedicated to essential oils, aromatherapy and people interested in using them to better the world.   You can visit their website at

Terry and Marie are both excellent instructors.  They created a great learning environment with their enthusiasm and knowledge.  There were five other incredible people attending the seminar with us.  Although CARE is not part of Young Living Essential Oils, all of the attendees of this seminar were current Young Living independent distributors.  The extended family of Young Living is full of these special people.  We learned several techniques during the weekend; Raindrop, Vitaflex and an Emotional Release technique. Feel free to contact us to learn more about the seminar.  By the way, we highly recommend it.

The first thing we would like to share with you from this weekend is some rules for safety with essential oils.  We haven’t seen all of these 12 rules of safety all in one place before.  They can be found in “The Chemistry of Essential Oils, Made Simple” by David Stewart, Ph.D., D.N.M.  I hope they are helpful.  If you have any questions, send us an email.

The 12 Rules for Safety with Essential Oils

1. Keep them out of the reach of children. Consider them as you would any therapeutic product in your home.

2. Keep a bottle of vegetable oil handy. It will dilute an essential oil and slow down its rate of absorption if there should be any discomfort or skin irritation.

3. People with sensitive skin can use a patch test to determine if they would react to a particular oil. It is generally safe to apply essential oils to the soles of the feet even for people with sensitive skin.

4. Pregnant women should consult their healthcare professional before using essential oils. Those oils with hormonal quality should probably be avoided during pregnancy. Some of these oils are: sage, clary sage, blue tansy, tarragon, niaouli, cypress, myrtle and wild tansy.

5. Essential oils rich in phenols (the hot oils) should be used with caution when applying to the skin. Use caution when apply to any sensitive areas, such as the throat and face. Before applying oils to the tender skin of young children, visit the Young Living website to learn more.

6. Keep essential oils away from the eye area where even the vapors can cause irritation. Do not handle contact lenses or rub the eyes with essential oils on your fingers. Oils with high phenol content can damage lenses and irritate eyes. If essential oils accidently get in the eyes, pour vegetable oil in the eyes to stop the burning. Don’t use water. Water will drive the oils in faster increasing the burning sensation.

7. Essential oils may be applied on or around the ears, but don’t pour essential oils directly into the ears.

8. People with epilepsy, high blood pressure, or who are prone to convulsions should consult a healthcare professional before using essential oils. Hyssop, fennel, and wild tansy oils should probably be avoided in these cases.

9. Most commonly used essential oils have been designated by the FDA as being “Generally Regarded as Safe” for oral usage. This designation is abbreviated as “GRAS.”  Before ingesting, GRAS oils may be, at your option, diluted with honey, milk, rice milk, olive oil, or other lipid dissolving liquid.

10.  In using essential oils in bath water, first add a dispersant, like a gel or liquid soap, to avoid concentrated droplets that can sometimes gravitate to sensitive areas of the body. There are always ways to safely disperse oils in a bath given in most books on applied aromatherapy.

11.  Some oils are phototoxic. When applied to the skin, avoid direct sunlight or the rays of healing lamps for at least 12 hours afterwards. These oils are: Angelica, Bergamot, Bitter Orange, Grapefruit, Lemon, Lime, Petitgrain and Rue.

12.  Keep essential oils in tightly closed glass bottles away from light and stored in cool places. (Normal room temperatures are cool enough.)  In this way, they will maintain their balanced chemical composition in potency indefinitely.

All things considered, essential oils are among the safest of all therapeutic modalities and one that is safe enough for even amateurs and untrained users.  Nevertheless, the more you know and understand about essential oils, the better and safer your results will be.
